[Archive] old drawings from 2008 and prior
The following snapshot is a selection of the quick sketches I had done when studying in the Fine Arts course at COFA. Most of them were 1-2 minutes poses and the models were ex-dancers. That's the time I was exposed to the new drawing styles, those wild, experimental, unrestricted expressing of energy via lines and blocks.
The following drawings were done right after I finished the first anatomy course at Julian Ashton art school, when I was over-fascinated with realism and elegances. The most common problem among these drawings is the 'deadly' appearance.
The following two drawings are from hundreds of life sketches done at Art house hotel and Parramatta Art Studio.
I was on a stage of confusion and struggling, trying to identify the force and apply the knowledge of anatomy onto the life sketches, but all without fruits.
The following drawings were done when I was studying anatomy at Julian Ashton art school, mentored by David Brigg, one of the 'legendary' art teachers in Sydney.
I was starting to learn to recognize the form and connection of human body, an ability that rather came from the eyes than the fingers.
